The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) reported earnings for its third fiscal quarter and nine months ended July 3, 2010. Diluted earnings per share (EPS) for the third quarter increased 31% to $0.67 from $0.51 in the prior-year quarter. For the nine month period, EPS increased 24% to $1.60 from $1.29 in the prior-year period. The quarter and nine month results were driven by growth at Media Networks and Studio Entertainment. Media Networks benefitted from earlier recognition of previously deferred revenue at ESPN.
