The $7 billion company celebrates momentous milestone with day-long promotions and recognition of one lucky shopper
QVC, one of the world's largest multimedia retailers, shipped its billionth package in the United States. In honor of this milestone, QVC is celebrating Mary Pew of Canton, Mich., who will receive a 24-hour shopping spree and a $10,000 QVC gift card. Additionally, QVC will provide thank you specials for all of its customers to enjoy from 9 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. ET, with free shipping and handling on selected products each hour.
"This is our chance to acknowledge the millions of loyal customers who have made this milestone possible," said QVC CEO Mike George. "To thank them, we're expanding the circle of recognition and including all of our customers by offering them special promotions throughout the day."
QVC annually ships more than 100 million packages from its four distribution centers in Lancaster, Pa.; Rocky Mount, N.C.; Suffolk, Va.; and West Chester, Pa. Roughly 12,000 packages an hour and 3.4 packages every second are shipped to customers throughout the United States.
Reaching an audience of more than 90 million homes across the United States, QVC broadcasts live 24 hours a day, 364 days a year and features approximately 1,600 products including name brand products by Dooney & Bourke, Dell, Bose and philosophy.
