Brits Vote Casino Royal as the Winner of the 'Best Movie' in a Global Consumer Survey

LONDON -- In a recent survey conducted by Royal Philips Electronics, the UK vote for best movie of choice went to the new James Bond movie 'Casino Royale'. Sticking with tradition and the love of all things British, the all action remake of the classic Bond movie proved to be a firm favourite. Starring man of the moment British actor Daniel Craig, the movie topped the poll with 'Da Vinci Code' coming a close second.
From a global perspective, fans around the world chose the Hollywood blockbuster 'Da Vinci Code' as their top choice for 'Best Movie.' The survey carried out by Royal Philips Electronics, asked consumers across the globe to nominate who they would like to see take the number one film award. Over 80% of those who took part in an online poll voted the 'Da Vinci Code' as the number one movie of choice.
Oscar (R) winning actor Tom Hanks and international actress Audrey Tatou feature in the movie favourite that came out on top in the US, Sweden, Germany, China, India, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Brazil and France, beating off competition from strong contenders including Casino Royale, The Devil Wears Prada and Babel.
Voters in India topped the poll with over 41% of the overall votes, while Sweden and Germany came a close second with over 33% voting the fast paced action thriller their best movie.

- The survey was carried out by Tickbox(TM) marketing the week of February 12 - 18. More than thousand consumers from each country were targeted including: Brazil, China, Germany, France, Netherlands, Norway, Italy, India, Spain, Sweden, UK and the U.S., voted who they would like to see win an award for Best Movie. The consumers voted off a list of award nominated entries and feature films which were nominated for an award, but did not win in previous years.
