Hip Hop artist Lil' Wayne (#31) makes his first-ever appearance on the Lycos 50 following news that he's received seven Hip Hop Award nominations and will perform along with Kanye West, Nelly and others during The BET Hip Hop Awards airing Oct. 17.

Search activity for Kathy Griffin is up 4,100% this week after the comedian gave a controversial acceptance speech during the Creative Arts Emmys, where she told Jesus to "suck it." Interestingly, while the telecast scored their second lowest ratings in Emmy's history, search interest in the Emmy Awards jumps 500%, due in part to the controversial speeches of Griffin and actress Sally Field. While accepting her award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Field veered off course, rambling "If mothers ruled the world, there would be no [expletive] war in the first place." FOX chose to bleep out Field's statement. Meanwhile, from the world of sports, search activity for OJ Simpson surges 900% following news that OJ has found himself on the other side of the law, yet again, this time for breaking and entering to intercept his own coveted sports memorabilia. And search interest in New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick increases 300% after the NFL fined Belichick and his team for videotaping defensive calls made by the New York Jets.
