Giant Food Brings 'New Low Prices Every Day' to Cookies and Crackers

Just in time for the back-to-school season, Giant Food unveiled its new, lower pricing on your favorite varieties of cookies and crackers. Starting Friday, Aug. 17, the chain will offer an even better value on these snack items, which are perfect for a brown-bag or after-school treat.

These new, lower prices are the latest chapter in Giant's Value Improvement Program (VIP). VIP reduces the cost of a typical family's weekly shopping trip by delivering low prices every day to customers together with great weekly promotions. The program continues to progressively roll out to different departments throughout Giant stores.

"Cookies and crackers are a staple of the brown-bagged school lunch," said Andrea Astrachan, vice president of consumer affairs for Giant Food. "Now, with our new, lower prices, these lunch mainstays are an even better value for our customers, whether it's in bulk or in individual snack-sized packages."

Customers already have noticed Giant's new lower prices when buying cereal, produce, paper products, baby care items, pet food and supplies, cleaning supplies, water, and juice," said Astrachan. She noted that customer response to VIP, which launched in the fall of 2006, continues to be very positive.

"VIP gives our customers more of what they want when they want it, without having to wait for a sale," she said. "Since we launched VIP, customers have raved to us about our lower prices, quality, and presentation. We want them to know that there is more to come."

Giant's Value Improvement Program (VIP) launched in late 2006 and combines Giant's wide range of products and categories and new low prices every day. Giant customers will continue to see VIP rolling out across store aisles in the months to come.
