Newegg.com(R) (http://www.newegg.com/), a major consumer electronics, computer and mobile wireless e-tailer only in its sixth year of business, has been ranked by industry authority Internet Retailer as the tenth highest-grossing online retailer of 2006.

Internet Retailer compiles its industry standard-defining "Top 500 Guide" by researching the Internet sales of every online retailer doing business in the United States and then placing them in ordered rank. In the recently-published 2007 Edition of the Guide, Newegg is noted as one of only 17 companies to break the $1 billion mark in annual online sales in 2006, and beats out major corporations such as Best Buy Co., Walmart.com, and QVC.com for a coveted spot in the Top 10.

"We are very proud to be included in Internet Retailer's Top 10 among such giants as Amazon.com, Sony and Staples," said George Jiao, COO of US Operations. The Guide goes on to report that Newegg had a 2006 growth rate of 15% and received on average over 12 million unique visitors per month, contributing to a tremendous holiday season that saw a 40% year-over-year sales increase on December 19. Newegg is also the second highest-grossing "pure play" or web-only retailer of 2006, falling only behind Amazon.com (ranked #1 overall).
