Charles Lindberg flew solo across the Atlantic in 1927 and television was first successfully demonstrated in New York. In Seattle, The Mayflower Park Hotel was born. The hotel started life as the Bergonian Hotel and has been in continuous operation ever since. One of Seattle's first uptown hotels, it was designed by architect B. Dudley Stuart, took six months to build and cost $750,000. Room prices ranged from $2.00 up to $10.00 for suites. The current owners, Birney and Marie Dempcy, later changed the name to the Mayflower Park Hotel in 1974.
In honor of our 80th Anniversary, The Mayflower Park Hotel wants to invite those young at heart who grew up with us, through the great depression, World War II, the growth of Seattle and so much more! Starting in July and running through December of 2007, we want all 80 years olds (and older) to enjoy a special 80th Anniversary Hotel Package of $19.27. This special rate will be limited to the first 80 bookings and is available on a space available basis with a two night maximum. Valid driver's license or birth certificate is needed for proof of young-at-heart age!
80th Anniversary Package includes: o Classic or Deluxe Accommodations in the historic Mayflower Park Hotel o Valet Parking o Two Classic "Anniversary" Cocktails in Oliver's o Two Keepsake Cocktail Glasses
For those that were born after 1927, this special package is still available for $239 for a classic guest room plus tax or $ 269 for a deluxe guest room, plus tax. Built in 1927, the beautifully renovated Mayflower Park Hotel is one of the last remaining locally owned and independent hotels in the Seattle area. It is a member of The National Trust Historic Hotels of America(R) that includes such other notables as The Greenbrier in West Virginia, and The Brown Palace in Denver. The hotel is also home to the award-winning Martini bar, Oliver's, and Seattle's Best Mediterranean Restaurant, Andaluca Restaurant.
Located at 405 Olive Way in Seattle, the Mayflower Park Hotel is operated by local owners Birney and Marie Dempcy and managed by Paul Ishii, General Manager.
