Company Ships in Volume New Capacity Sweet Spot

WD® (NYSE: WDC) announced that it is now shipping in volume its WD Caviar® SE16 640 GB 3.5-inch hard drives based on 320 GB-per-platter technology -- a platform that it has been shipping since January 2008 and is serving as the foundation of all of the company’s 3.5-inch drive families.

Today’s common two-platter drives are limited to 500 GB, but we are expanding capacity by 28 percent on the same design with WD’s leading technology heads and disks.”

The 320 GB-per-platter technology is being deployed across WD’s desktop, enterprise, consumer electronics and external hard drive product lines, including additional capacity points, throughout this calendar year.

The WD Caviar family of 3.5-inch desktop hard drives delivers high performance with 3 Gb/s transfer rate, Native Command Queuing (NCQ), and cool operating temperatures and quiet operation, enabling customers to integrate WD products in the most demanding desktop and external storage environments.

Skype Expands Unlimited Calling Subscription Options For the First Time Skype Offers Flat-Rate International Calling

Skype, the global leader in internet communications, lowered the cost of nationwide domestic and international calling today with the expansion of new unlimited calling subscriptions for consumers in the U.S. and Canada. This launch marks the first time Skype has offered a single, monthly flat rate subscription for unlimited international calling to 34 countries worldwide. As part of this launch, a new subscription for calls to Mexico is now available. In addition, Skype brings back its popular unlimited U.S. and Canada subscription and now includes a monthly flat rate option for the first time.

While Skype-to-Skype calls remain free, the unlimited calling subscriptions give individuals the most cost-effective way to call virtually any landlines domestically or internationally. The subscriptions do not require a long-term contract and give customers the choice of paying monthly, quarterly or annually. The three subscriptions now available to consumers in the U.S. and Canada include the following:

-- Unlimited U.S. & Canada: Unlimited calls to landline and cell phones in the U.S. and Canada. ($2.95 per month)

-- Unlimited Mexico: Unlimited calls to landline and cell phones in the U.S. and Canada, and to landlines in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey; up to 80% off normal SkypeOut rates to landlines in the rest of Mexico and up to 40% off normal SkypeOut rates to all Mexico cell phones. ($5.95 per month)

-- Unlimited World: Unlimited calls to landline and cell phones in 34 countries*, including the U.S. and Canada, as well as to Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey; up to 80% off normal SkypeOut rates to the rest of Mexico landlines and up to 40% off normal SkypeOut rates to all Mexico cell phones.($9.95 per month)

Unlimited calling is subject to Skype's fair usage policy.
Calls to premium, non-geographic and other special numbers
         are excluded.

Each subscription also includes a Skype To Go number, which lets users make international calls at local rates from a cell phone or landline phone. A user dials an assigned access number and the call is connected by Skype to overseas numbers. Calls are charged at standard Skype calling rates.

"Skype is known for pushing the boundaries of online communications by providing free voice and video calls. We know Skype users have different communication needs - whether it's doing free video calls to others on Skype, or using Skype to make calls to friends or family members who are on landline phones," said Don Albert, Vice President and General Manager of Skype North America. 1.2 Million Bars, Restaurants and Clubs Now Available Around Your Location and On Your Mobile Phone Courtesy of buzzd.com

Discover what's hot right now in New York, LA, Chicago, San Francisco, Miami and London

buzzd, a location-based city guide and social network on the mobile device, has just announced that it has amassed a database of over 1.2 million venues across the United States with reviews, address and other features after launching just four months ago.

Now consumers in major U.S. metropolitan areas can answer ‘What's going on around me, right now?’ from trusted listings, alongside real-time user generated content (UGC). In fact, member-inputted venues are fast becoming a growing segment of the buzzd service.

A Mini-Wikipedia of Local Entertainment

Currently one in 10 venues on the buzzd network have been added by the buzzd community itself and, thanks to a new user submission tool, additions are verified by buzzd before posting to avoid the duplication of venues and events.

"In local entertainment, venues change their name, management, ownership and location often, so a consistently updated, crowd-sourced database is key to finding out the best events and places to enjoy," said Nihal Mehta, CEO and Co-founder of buzzd.

How It Works:

buzzd answers the question “What’s going on around me right now?” and delivers location-sensitive, premium editorial event and venue information, along with up-to-the-minute reviews and ratings from friends and other members of the buzzd community.

Users can also browse and search continuously updated event feeds which include pricing, location and event details as well as the firsthand ratings and reviews posted from the venue by other members. Events and locations are available nationally and aggregated through partnerships with CitySearch, Flavorpill, TimeOut New York and Zagat, with plans to roll out even more content partnerships in local markets. User-generated feedback (or “buzzes”) for real-time activity surrounding venues and events is also aggregated at the top of event listings throughout the platform.

Currently, Friday is the biggest day of buzzd usage, followed by Saturday and then Thursday. The most popular cities, in order, are:

· New York

· San Francisco

· Chicago

· Los Angeles

· Miami

· London, UK

In addition to their partnership deals with CitySearch, Flavorpill, TimeOut New York and Zagat, buzzd has done deals with brands such as Jim Beam, MyOpenBar, Nokia and Bonnaroo, the world's largest music and arts festival. Currently, buzzd can also be accessed on-deck with Helio and the company will be announcing on-deck deals with other major carriers in the coming weeks.

Free for All

In addition to the current and upcoming on-deck carrier deals, buzzd can be accessed by the 1.5 billion phones on the planet that have WAP access or the 3.5 billion phones that have SMS capabilities. On top of this, the buzzd service is free and requires no downloads or subscriptions.

To check out buzzd on your mobile phone, point your mobile browser to www.buzzd.com/m or text JOIN to 96321. For a complete list of SMS text codes, visit http://buzzd.com/m/about/help_sms.
