Spin Master, a toy distributor based in Toronto, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), today announced a voluntary recall of Aqua Dots toys which are produced by Moose Enterprises, an Australian company.

Spin Master's decision to pursue this recall is grounded in our ongoing commitment to children's safety. Because of the swift manner in which this situation has been addressed, we are able to report that over two-thirds of the 4.2 million toys covered by this recall have not reached consumers and are currently being recovered. Working together with the CPSC and Health Canada, our retail partners and consumers, we are confident that we will be able to implement this recall in an efficient manner.

This voluntary recall announcement came hours after Spin Master's proactive request that retailers remove Aqua Dots toys from retail shelves and sale in North America. This request was made after Spin Master received notification from Moose Enterprises of an Australian recall of a similar product and recently confirmed two safety incidents involving Aqua Dots in the United States.
